Lower prices for holidays are offered by hoteliers on the Southern Black Sea coast in September. The offers are about 30% lower than in the height of summer. The hope is that the season will last until October because of the warm weather.
“Around BGN 130 overnight stay for 10 days – you can judge for yourself. And then all-you-can-eat food. Maybe around BGN 2,500 for 10 days, normal. The sea is calm, the attitude of the people is wonderful,” commented Neli Ivanova , tourist in Pomorie.
“At the moment, they go to the tour operators for the so-called “extras” – they pay for 5 nights and rest for 7. Or 7 equals 9. In the private sector, you can find apartments only on a nightly basis and for 60-80 BGN for a family of four” Delyana Tsoneva, chairman of the Regional Tourist Chamber in Burgas, explained to BNT.
Despite the more favorable offers, no boom in Bulgarian tourists is expected in the fall.
“They are mainly heading to Turkey, as the prices of the competitors are also falling. Only maybe the English market will remain at the beginning of October,” said Ivan Kiryazov, a tour operator.
“We have announced a closing date of October 17. It is weaker than last year, but as is the trend this year – at the last moment we expect an increase in tourists,” commented Penka Chakarova, manager of a hotel in Sunny Beach.
“Growth is observed mostly from the Bulgarian market, the English market, the Scandinavian market, Poland, the Czech Republic. About 15%, but this is still an early statistic,” said Delyana Tsoneva, chairman of the regional tourism chamber in Burgas.
The final assessment of the season will be clear in a month.
