The Councilor for Cultural Promotion, Carlos Gil, has highlighted the firm commitment of the municipal government to quality cultural programming, which has included more than 35 theatrical performances this March in the city, also coinciding with the celebration of the VII World Theater Week, organized by the ‘Joaquín Benito de Lucas’ Theater and Film School in collaboration with the City Council.

This was confirmed by the mayor during the press conference for the presentation of the VII World Theater Week, together with the heads of the ‘Joaquín Benito de Lucas’ School, María Salas and Sergio Sanguino, where he informed that 6 theatrical productions “very choral, for all tastes and ages” by 70 theater students.

Specifically, on March 19, the staging of ‘Agosto’ will take place, at the Victoria Theater, at 7:30 p.m., and on the 20th, it will be ‘Fuenteovejuna’ at the Rafael Morales Cultural Center, at 8:00 p.m. :00 hours. Also on March 23, there is a performance of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ and, on the 24th, ‘El Inspector’, both at the Rafael Morales Cultural Center. On March 25, it will be ‘Tito Andrónico’ at 8:30 p.m. and, on the 27th, which is World Theater Day, there will be a theatrical production of ‘Presas’ at the Victoria Theater at 9:00 p.m.

On the other hand, the mayor has pointed out that from the OAL of Culture, “not only top-level works are brought in the theater programming but also collaborate with proposals as interesting as those of the ‘Joaquín Benito de Lucas’ School at affordable prices for tickets.” And to give greater relevance to this celebration of Theater Week, as indicated, the play ‘Cielo Calderón or Life is a Dream according to Lorca’ has also been scheduled for March 26 at the Palenque theater.

In this regard, he recalled that Talavera has a “front row” cultural program and, proof of this, is that there are days when up to four cultural activities are scheduled in the different cultural spaces, which means some 120 activities throughout the year. this March. “There is such a variety so that people can attend and that culture is increasing because it is what sets people free,” he said.
