The Torrolodones Ancient Music Festival [FEMAT], one of the most important bets in the musical field of the Department of Culture of the City Council of this Madrid town, which also has the artistic direction of the important Spanish harpsichord player Ignacio You’re welcome, has just presented its fifth edition, which will be held between April 9 and 17. This festival with a young trajectory, but the one that has already passed figures of the stature of Thomas Dunford, Amandine Beyer, Maurice Steger, Seckou Keita or La Ritirata, will once again take place in the main hall of the Bulevar Theater. This edition is marked, how could it be otherwise at a time like the present, by support for national artists. The festival will open on Friday 9th the duo made up of the Vitorian countertenor Carlos Mena and the vihuela of Manuel Minguillón, with your program For you I am burning, the result of a recent record recording, focused on madrigalistic and profane repertoire for voice and plucked string from the 16th and 17th centuries. The sister Fahmi and Rami Alqhai will be the protagonists on the night of Saturday 10, which will offer a tour of literature for the viola from the leg under the title The Spirit of Gambo. On Friday the 16th it will be the turn of Spain and its director Alexander Marias, which will transport us to the central period of the French Baroque with its program If Versailles could speak, which illustrates the relationship between court composers at the time of Louis XIV and Louis XV.
