“It is with the utmost love that we announce that Michael Nesmith passed away this morning at home, surrounded by family, peacefully and from natural causes,” his family said in a statement quoting Rolling Stone magazine. Nesmith wrote several songs for The Monkees, including “The girl I knew somewhere”, “Mary, Mary”, “Listen to the band”, “Tapioca tundra” and “You just may be the one”. Their most famous song was “I’m a believer” anyway.
