“Regional Investment Bank” (RIB) granted a loan of 2.6 million euros to SIA “Smalat” for the construction of the car showroom “Cupra” in Riga, in Kārļas Ulmaņas gatve, the representatives of the bank informed the LETA group .
The granted loan will be used by “Smalat” for the reconstruction of the building located at 96 Kārļas Ulmaņas gatve, to create a car showroom “Cupra” and a bodywork repair center “Autobrava bodywork repair center”.
The total area of the new car showroom “Cupra” will be 4,800 square meters, including a sales hall with an area of 1,000 square meters, a body repair center with an area of 1,280 square meters, a service and office building, and a center will be -build a parking lot next to the building. The authors of the reconstruction construction project are the architecture office “MADesign”.
“Smalat” board member Sandijs Āboliņš-Ābols explains that the building has been there for more than 20 years, and that it is time for renovation. A tenant was found for the building, SIA “Autobrava”, which sells “Cupra” brand cars.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the Board of RIB, Aleksandrs Jakovlevs, says that in nine months of this year, the bank has granted loans in the amount of 48.4 million euros for various domestic projects, namely 26.7 million euros or 2.2 hours. more than in the corresponding period last year.
The turnover of “Smalat” in 2023 was 654,109 euros, and the company made a profit of 322,139 euros, according to “Firmas.lv” information.
“Smalat” was registered in 2005, and the capital of the company is 433,100 euros. The owner of “Smalat” AS “Solvina”, which belongs to the Icelandic company “Norvik hf.” by SIA “Norvik Timber Industries” (80%) and SIA “Latvian Capital Ventures” (20%), owned by Āboliņš-Ābols (42.5%), Oļesja Dreimane (28.75%) and Dagnis Dreimanis (28.75 %) .
RIB’s profit last year was 9.144 million euros, which is 40.6 times more than in 2022.
According to the amount of assets, RIB was the seventh largest bank in Latvia at the end of 2023, according to the information published by the Bank of Latvia. The largest shareholders of the bank are SIA “SKY Investment Holding” (44%), Ukrainian citizen Yuriy Rodin (33.76%) and Mark Bekker (10.57%).
