LR Teschl-Hofmeister: The state of Lower Austria has already supported 175,000 students and apprentices with the “blue and yellow starting school money” of 100 euros
“The blue and yellow start-up allowance is a great example of relieving families in the fight against inflation. Since mid-August, the state of Lower Austria has processed and paid around 115,000 applications for 175,000 children and young people, which corresponds to 87.5% of all eligible applicants. To date, we have spent € 17.5 million on this simple and unbureaucratic help “, says Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, Minister of Education.
The “Blue-Yellow School Starter Allowance” is one of the five targeted relief measures in the state of Lower Austria to combat inflation. “Everyone is feeling the rise in prices, mainly due to the explosion in energy prices. It is therefore important and necessary to give relief to families. Those who have not yet applied for the “blue-yellow school starting money” can do so by the end of the semester in February 2023 on the Lower Austrian state website, “says Teschl-Hofmeister.
There are only two basic requirements for the application: the schoolchild or apprentice must have a normal place of residence in Lower Austria and the parent receiving the family allowance must have their primary residence in Lower Austria.
