Cristiano Ronaldo scored a spectacular goal in the warm-up of Portugal-Gana in the preliminary round of Group H World Cup 2022 at Lusail Stadium, Thursday (24/11).
The moment of Ronaldo’s spectacular goal became the focal point of the public who directly attended the stadium with a capacity of over 80,000 spectators. The 37-year-old player seemed to be honing his shooting skills before the game started.
“Ronaldo scored a beautiful goal in training today. Boom!” write account @SoufianeTahir11.
In the video, Ronaldo appears to shoot from distance from outside the box. The above-average power of the shot prevented the goalkeeper from blocking the shot of five Ballon d’Ors.
During the match, Ronaldo looked impressive as the spearhead of Portugal’s front row against Ghana. Lui scored a goal in the 31st minute but the referee ruled it out as Ronaldo was believed to have fouled an opposing player.
Ronaldo then scored again in the 65th minute. He has successfully completed his duties as a sanctions enforcer.
Ronaldo became the first player to score in five different World Cups. The goal against Ghana also made him the second oldest player (37) to score at a World Cup after Roger Milla for Cameroon (42).
Ghana had time to recover thanks to goals from Andre Ayew and Osman Bukari. But Portugal managed to secure victory thanks to additional goals from Jao Felix and Rafael Leao.
