The Moldy Peaches have announced their first European shows in two decades. They will perform a total of three times in England and Spain in 2023: on May 29, the anti-folk group will perform at the London Roundhouse, followed by festival concerts at Primavera Sound on June 2 in Barcelona and June 9 in Madrid.

The band, in a nod to their name, snidely said on their channels: “We’re thrilled to be back, older and moldier. Let’s see if we still have it! Once a moldy peach, always a moldy peach The sextet consisting of Adam Green and Kimya Dawson went on tour for the last time in 2003 – after which, with few exceptions, the two continued their respective solo careers.
“Suddenly we realized that we had this great success”
As a duo, they’ve only done a handful of concerts together, including a benefit concert at a record store in 2004, an impromptu set in Los Angeles, and a performance at the Juno premiere in 2007. It was through that film that developed his bittersweet ” Everyone Else But You” became a real indie hit: the soundtrack of the coming-of-age melodrama sold over a million copies. As a result, half a decade after the release of their only album to date, the Moldy Peaches rose to fame in their native United States.
In an interview with MUSIKEXPRESS in June, Adam Green explained how that could have happened: “I never thought this would happen. We rarely played the track on the Moldy Peaches old European tours; I didn’t count it as one of our signature songs.” – more of a dark track. In a way, the song was rediscovered by the film ‘Juno’, by which time we had already broken up. Elliot Page wanted his character to listen to the Moldy Peaches. Then Kimya and I flew to Los Angeles for the premiere and seven days later “Juno” was a big hit in America, the soundtrack is topping the charts, and all of a sudden we realized we had this big hit.
