The modernized Polo, which Volkswagen introduced at the end of April, should impress with its more dynamic design, which creates redesigned bumpers, headlights and taillights. At the same time, the car offers LED lighting and, within the optional LED Matrix IQ.Light headlights, the front lights are connected by an illuminated LED strip, while dynamic turn signals appear at the rear.
The emphasis on modern equipment is also clearly visible in the interior. The car already has a fully digital instrument panel as standard equipment, which complements the modern MIB3 infotainment system and a newly designed multifunction steering wheel for easier operation.

In addition, the standard equipment includes a number of advanced safety and assistance systems, such as Lane Assist (for lane driving), Front Assist (obstacle monitoring in front of the car) with City emergency braking and gait and cyclist detection, or driver fatigue monitoring. In addition, for the first time ever, the IQ.Drive Travel Assist system for semi-autonomous driving is also appearing in Poland, which is available for an additional charge for the basic Polo and Life versions, while the Style and R-Line equipment are fitted as standard.
Currently, there are only four liter three-cylinder engines, three petrol and one CNG. The basis is an atmospheric 1.0 MPI petrol engine with an output of 59 kW, which is complemented by two supercharged 1.0 TSI petrol engines with an output of 70 kW and 81 kW. The only alternative to gasoline engines is a 1.0-liter TGI natural gas (CNG) engine with an output of 66 kW.

The 1.0 MPI (59 kW) and 1.0 TSI (70 kW) engines are combined with a five-speed manual, while the 1.0 TGI (for CNG) engine received a six-speed manual. However, a seven-speed automatic transmission is also available for both 1.0 TSI engines (70 and 81 kW).

Higher Life level starts from 404,900 CZK (1.0 TSI / 70 kW) and brings for example 15 “steel wheels, chrome controls, USB inputs at the rear, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel and handbrake lever, center armrest, height-adjustable front seats with lumbar supports and storage pockets at the rear, asymmetrically divided folding rear backrests, electrically adjustable rear-view mirrors with automatic folding on the front passenger’s side when reversing or a pull-out box under the front seat.

The second highest Style level starts with the same motorization (10th TSI / 70 kW) from the amount of CZK 475,900, but already offers 15 “alloy wheels Ronda, automatic air conditioning, Ready2Discover system with wireless phone connection and App-Connect infotainment, LED Matrix headlights IQ.Light, comfortable sports seats in the front, decorative interior lighting, Travel Assist and Lane Assist assistance systems, adaptive ACC cruise control, Park Pilot parking sensors, LED footwell lighting and textile rugs.
Top equipment Polo R-LineHowever, production of which will not begin until the autumn will target sports-oriented drivers. For the price from 502,900 CZK (1.0 TSI / 70 kW) offers 16 “Valencia alloy wheels, R-Line exterior with specific bumpers and sill strips, R-Line interior with contrast stitching, sports seats, sports chassis with progressive steering, black roof upholstery and dark tinted windows at the back.
The basic varnish of Urano gray was replaced by the shade of Ascont gray, and the metallic varnishes of Rauch gray, Violet purple and Kings red also expanded the color palette. In addition, customers can choose the Interior action package for Polo and Life equipment, while the Exterior action package is also available for Life equipment.
