As early as April this year, customers will be able to order the upgraded Honda Jazz Crosstar with a more powerful hybrid e:HEV powertrain.
As part of the modernization, the Honda Jazz Crosstar has undergone several minor changes to the exterior, which should underline its more durable and adventurous appearance. For example, the radiator grille has received a more pronounced honeycomb pattern, while the revised bumpers attract attention with silver decorations that are intended to indicate the protection of the chassis.
The modified bumpers are followed by new and coordinated side skirts, alloy wheels with a new surface treatment have moved into the wheel arches, and the body is available with a new Fjord Mist blue bar body. The interior features new seat upholstery, dashboard and door trims, and new dashboard, center console, and steering wheel trim in a minimalist style.
Under the hood we find the latest (and more powerful) generation of the e:HEV hybrid powertrain, which consists of two electric motors, a gasoline engine and an automatic transmission. In addition, drivers can choose from three intelligent driving modes, thanks to which the car should always offer high refinement and efficiency.
The power of the electric motor increased by 10 kW as part of the modernization, i.e. to 90 kW (122 hp). The power of the motor-generator has moved by 8 kW, i.e. to 78 kW (106 hp), and the power of the 1.5 liter gasoline engine has increased by 7 kW to the resulting 79 kW (107 hp). Its highest torque remains at 131 Nm.
Combined consumption according to WLTP should be 4.8 l/100 km, CO emissions2 should then be around 108 g/km. As part of the modernization, the automaker has also optimized the automatic eCVT transmission, which should now improve fluidity and provide a better driving experience.
The assistance safety system Honda Sensing has also been improved, which can boast, for example, a new camera with a wider angle of view and a higher resolution. The system thus obtains better information about the car’s surroundings, including the recognition of verges or markings along the roads. In addition, active protection systems have been modified to reduce driver distraction during normal driving.
But the function of the assistant when driving in traffic jams has also been modified, now improved by driving support from 0 km/h. The system should thus reduce the burden on the driver when driving in heavy traffic and contribute to higher safety. However, this is also helped by the standard 10 airbags and other safety technologies, thanks to which the Crosstar achieved five stars in Euro NCAP in 2020.
The start of sales of new Honda Jazz Crosstar cars in European markets is planned for April this year. At the same time, the price list is relatively simple thanks to a single motorization and a single equipment. The recommended price thus starts from the amount of CZK 679,900, but this does not include costs and transport (CZK 9,900). The final price, including any additional costs, will be available to interested parties only at the seller.
However, the positive thing is that you will find almost nothing in the price list for which it would be necessary to pay extra. The exception is metallic/premium paint (CZK 14,900/CZK 16,900), or service packages such as Basic Connectivity, Safety and Travel, On-board Wi-Fi Hotspot or Honda Personal Assistant. Some services are free for the first year.
