The novel follows on from its predecessor, which regularly appears in lists of the ugliest vehicles of all time. The first Actyon was literally ahead of the SUV-coupe trend, it appeared even before the BMW X6, but the world was not yet ready for such a car. So it wasn’t a sales hit.

The new Actyon also bets on a special appearance, this time SsangYong does it much better – at least in our opinion.

In terms of design, the novel is somewhat of a sequel to the epic one SUV Torreshowever, many details are different and new. Particularly striking are the unique front lights, narrow at each end of the car and supported by another section in the lower part of the bumper. At the front, the Actyon also got a light front mask that connects the headlights.

Special details also include a muscular fender, relatively sporty roof lines or a wide C-pillar with an element that optically separates it from the roof.

The new Actyon is a very large car, measuring 4,740 millimeters in length (for comparison, the new Škoda Kodiaq is 4,758 mm long), 1,920 mm wide and 1,680 mm high. The wheelbase reaches 2,680 mm – the same as the Torres model. Unsurprisingly, Actyon is similar in terms of technology as well.

So far, the manufacturer has presented the car only in the version for the domestic market of South Korea, where all versions will have 20-inch light alloy wheels as standard.

The interior then largely copies the cabin of the electric or recently updated version of the aforementioned Torres model. The base is a dashboard with two connected 12.3-inch displays – one working as a digital instrument panel, the other serving infotainment. At least there are buttons inside, the center console looks interesting and we can see a newly designed steering wheel.

Official products also refer to leather upholstery with suede elements, which is available in two color combinations: black and red, or “camel” brown and beige. In the interior, we can also find carbon or wood decoration.

SsangYong also highlights the interior space, the Actyon is said to offer a lot of space for passengers, and rear passengers should not be restricted either. The trunk offers a volume of 668 liters, up to 1,568 liters after folding the rear backrests.

Due to the technical relationship with the Torres model, it is not surprising that there is a 1.5-liter gasoline four-cylinder, turbocharged. The specifications for the Korean market speak of a maximum power of 125 kW and a maximum torque of 280 Nm.

It is interesting to mention the lack of a manual transmission, which is available – at least for now in South Korea – only a six-speed automatic. At least buyers can choose between front or all-wheel drive.

We certainly cannot rule out a fully electric version in the future.

The new Actyon has already started to be sold on its domestic market, the basic price is around 570 thousand crowns. The stylish SUV will arrive in other countries, possibly including Europe, at the end of this year.
