The mobilized Russians have no experience for a successful attack / Diena

Due to the losses suffered at Vuhledar, the Russian troops will have to carry out additional manning of the 155th marine infantry brigade for the third time, ISW recalls the statement of Oleksiy Dmitrashkovsky, representative of the Ukrainian operational command “Tavrijsk”.

Until the defeat at Vuhledar, there were 5,000 soldiers in the 155th marine infantry brigade, said Dmitrashkovskis.

80-90% of the soldiers in the brigade were mobilized, ISW quotes a soldier of the 155th marine infantry brigade as saying.

“If Russia continues to use conscripts that have not been able to perform military tasks, such as spotting minefields, and who do not have the knowledge of what to do if they come across them, this indicates that the conscripts do not have the combat experience necessary to successfully would carry out a mechanized attack,” says ISW.

“Those mobilized are believed to have had limited individual training and lack the cohesion, professional training and experience needed to carry out large-scale offensive operations.”

Russia can transfer additional units mobilized to the Vuhledar front, which could provide adequate protection or offensive operations aimed at attrition, but they are unlikely to become effective mechanized units capable of conducting successful offensive operations in a short period of time,” says the US think tank.
