The mixed choir “Juventus” of the University of Latvia announces the admission of young singers

This year 2020/2021. The 100th anniversary of the oldest Latvian university choir “Juventus” will be in the spotlight in the 2007 season. Since its foundation in 1920, it has independently been one of the strongest amateur choirs in Latvia.

The active season for singers will begin at the end of the summer, when the traditional choir camp will take place, during which young people will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the choir’s internal environment, get to know their choir members, as well as learn the repertoire.

Vocal teacher Inga Lisovska says that this choir has an amazingly strong collective consciousness. Every singer here “infects” each other with selfless giving of his personality and work attitude. Together we will take care of your bright vocal tone, as well as the ability not to be confused by the wide range of sheet music.

Valdis Tomsons, the artistic director of the Juventus Mixed Choir of the University of Latvia, invites young people not to be afraid to sing and come to the reception, because: apart from the fact will also be a new hobby with great added value. Singing gives you the opportunity to be a part of something special – music that opens, thrills, fascinates and vibrates new feelings in you. In the upcoming season, we will celebrate the centenary of the choir, which is an important historical event. Musically, it will bring new challenges and the singers will have the opportunity to experience something unique – we will play 13 new works written especially for this event, created by talented Latvian composers. ”
