“The Mistakes of Bulgarian Politics: Negotiation Over Power Overeating”

Boyko Borisov did not seek to come to power, but sought to negotiate. Borisov is not interested in the final result, because he came out of isolation. The second very big mistake is that PPs decide to increase their power out of proportion to their support – this is power overeating. The PPs cannot take all the power disproportionately to their support, because they will vomit from power. This is what the sociologist Andrey Raichev said to BNT about the freezing of the negotiations to form the rotating Denkov/Gabriel government.

According to him, Radostin Vassilev is the detonator. The recording that Vasilev released shocked, but it shocked more with the form than with the content. The problem is not how the politicians speak, but what they say – that scares, commented Raychev and added that the PP do not understand their relationship with Boyko Borisov.

According to him, Borisov has no goal, but relaxes on the armchair and waits to see what others will do. His opponents have to do something, and they don’t have a smart move. In a few days, the president has to give the second mandate, and when that happens, they have three options – to return the mandate when it was handed over, bring academician Nikolay Denkov to try to form a government, or bring in someone else, a different candidate for prime minister from Academician Denkov.

“Borisov is waiting for them and when he sees them, he will make it up. The most irritating story is the embassies,” pointed out Andrey Raichev.

He is not sure that PP/DB will be able to survive the tapes scandal as they have not proposed any adequate policy. They cannot stand in the position of being given all the power. Andrey Raichev cannot understand why they have all the power of the PP.

It is a lifesaver for PP/DB to go for the option of an expert government, but it is not known whether Borisov will accept it. It is better for Bulgaria to avoid new early parliamentary elections, there is also a third mandate, he pointed out.

Andrey Raichev added that the maximum that PP/DB can go to is a technical government for one year.
