The Mistakes and Challenges of LTT: A Critical Review

The only mistake LTT has made is claiming they are better than other channels…

BS! I watch LTT regularly, but they’re definitely not ‘better’*, they’ve gotten bigger than the rest and that’s exactly the problem. Of course you will always have ‘hate’ from others who are jealous, but the main problem is internal. Small generally does not scale well to large, we see that with all SMEs. LTT has become too fast, too big and they internally made all the mistakes that almost all small SMEs make once they get big.

It is not for nothing that Linus himself was almost on the verge of overwrought / burnout for a long time and has now handed over the CEO position to someone he trusts, but imho much too late. Their internal IT is downright crap, even though they are a lot of computer nerds! Now they have put Luke in internal IT, but that is still a case of ‘mistakes’, he is a very smart guy, but has 0.0 experience with office automation / security. That might be nice if you only do that if you grow in that position, but the house is already on fire and you want to have someone who wants to be a firefighter put it out?

*’better’ depends on what you mean by that, are they bigger and do they have more income? Absolute! But by that yardstick, a MrBeast is better than LTT. When you mean better quality, what do you mean? The videos or the content of those videos? Accuracy, depth? There are many smaller channels that go much deeper into specific matters and are imho of much better quality content than an LTT.

There have been a number of guests who have created a very negative image about LTT and others have blindly run off without looking closely at what has been said. However, that does not alter the fact that LTT has been committing serious mistakes (internally and publicly) for much longer. That has been said before, but nothing has been done with it in such a drastic way before, so those extremely negative images did work so that LTT will finally (much too late) make some structural changes to the sh!theap they made themselves …

But there are also other YouTubers who have taken a much more balanced viewpoint, a very good one I think is that of TechTechPotato (link below) who analyzes LTT’s biggest critic on his own failure in his video, but certainly does not spare LTT from his failure .
