Marta Lucía Ramírez, Chancellor and Vice President of the Republic, will lead today a mission of the Government and the private sector to gain ground in the investment confidence of the country. From today the agenda will begin in New York and Washington and will run until July 9.
For today, the chancellor is expected to meet with representatives of UN women to strengthen gender equality and the role of women in Colombia. This meeting will take place after months of work with the counselor for Women’s Equity, Gheidy Gallo, with whom she has analyzed the issuance of gender bonds that allow financing projects to generate employment for women.
The chancellor will also hold meetings with US investors and members of the Global Reporting Initiative. Among the senior executives who will participate in the meetings are the president of the Inter-American Development Bank, Mauricio Claver-Carone; the IDB Invest CEO, James Scriven; the CEO of the IDB Lab, Eric Parrado; the Vice President for Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and Central Asia of the International Finance Corporation, Georgina Baker and the representatives of the Atlantic Council and the Council of the Americas.
As for the Colombian government team, Marta Lucía Ramírez will lead the meetings in the company of the Minister of Finance, José Manuel Restrepo. Francisco Santos, Colombian ambassador to the United States, and the president of ProColombia, Flavia Santoro, will also be present.
