Missed penalty Harry Kane it colored England’s defeat of France World Cup 2022. Alan Shearer thinks it will take Kane a long time to forget this.
Duel England versus France in the 2022 World Cup Quarter Finals played at Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor on Sunday (12/11/2022) at morning WIB. The Three Lions had to concede the title holder with the score 1-2.
In a position behind 1-2, England had a golden opportunity to equalise. England were awarded a penalty for the second time after Theo Hernandez fouled Mason Mount.
However, Kane failed to maximize it. The England captain’s kick missed the mark.
Former England striker Alan Shearer sympathizes with Harry Kane. He believes the missed penalty will haunt Kane for a long time.
“This is the life of a striker. You put yourself in those positions and he will haunt Harry for the rest of his life,” Shearer said as reported by AS.
“But that’s what you have to endure as a striker, sometimes you succeed and sometimes you don’t. You don’t score every chance and some chances matter more than others and it hurts a lot.”
“He won’t sleep well for a long time, that’s his personality and I know how much that means to him and to the team.”
“He’ll think he’s made England lose. We see it in a different way, he’s saved us on many occasions. It hurts. It really hurts. But you can imagine how the players would feel if it hurt so much,” he said of Harry Kane and English bankruptcy.
