An unsettling, comical, furious, crazy and colorful Hamlet: it closes with “Hamlet² (The people don’t have bread? Let’s give them brioche)”, broadcast on Saturday 21 January 21.15 on Rai 5, the cycle “The mirror of the world”, dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the Franco Parenti Theater in Milan. Staged in the 2012-2013 season, directed by Filippo Timi, the show sees Timi himself – accompanied by Lucia Mascino, Marina Rocco, Luca Pignagnoli, Elena Lietti – the protagonist of a reinterpretation of Shakespeare where every gesture or word becomes a game and personal voice, intelligent taunt, high-grade fun “helzapoppin”. Faced with tragedy, Hamlet has two choices: to succumb or to explode in the utmost vitality. Timi chose the latter, transforming tragedy into comedy, between power, oblivion, frivolity and madness. The TV direction is by Felice Cappa.
