The curtain of mirrors has found a place in the square of the German Unity, in front of the Übersee-Museum. “Since the beginning of the pandemic we have wanted to present the theater in the Spiegelzelt. Unfortunately it didn’t work. After our mirror tent was a hit last year, we decided to keep it every year, ”says theater producer Knut Schakinnis.
His daughter Lilli, the new director of the Packhaus Theater and the Theaterschiff Bremen, is in charge of the artistic direction and program of the Spiegelzelt. “I will make sure that everything goes well and that everyone is happy with the management of the evening game. The costumes used here are all made by me, “she says.
The program starts on November 24 with the performance of the Bremen Christmas tale, which was also very popular last year. It is the famous story of Charles Dickens rewritten about Bremen. “Last year we had to work with Corona distances, which is why only 195 visitors were able to see the show.
From ABBA to Sinatra
The demand was so great and the show so good that we decided to do it again, ”says Kurt Schakinnis.
Another highlight is the premiere of the piece “And again and again … – Udo, and he’s back”. The focus here is on Udo Jürgens’ greatest hits. The first will take place on December 15th.
That wasn’t all. In addition to these two major events, there are two smaller ones. On November 25, the SOS trio will hold the concert “Abba Unplugged”. Three musicians present the Swedish group’s hits with male vocals and acoustic music.
On December 1st Frank Sinatra will come to life musically with “Sinatra Story”. Jens Sörensen from Oldenburg would like to take guests on a musical journey through time with his interpretation.
“This year we offer 265 places so that it remains comfortable and many people can still enter the tent,” says spokesman Eggert Peters. Entrance fee between 49 and 65 euros. In addition, if you book in advance, you can dine at the buffet offered by the Edelweiß restaurant for EUR 35.50.
