Seeing one is a miracle, seeing all three side by side is basically impossible. Nevertheless, visitors to the Tatra museum in Kopřivnice can do it if they manage to get there in the coming months.
When Tatra from Kopřivnica still produced passenger cars, in cooperation with the company Metalex, it was able to bring a supersport to the world in the early 90s of the last century. Incidentally, she created one of the rarest cars in the world – the MTX Tatra V8, as the car is called, exists in only three examples.
One is white, the second is red, and the third is black. It was still possible to see it a few years ago in the sports car museum in Lány in Kladno, but this museum is now closed. Recently, one could normally see this gem of the Czechoslovak automotive industry only in photos. And all three of them came together in public for the first time.
Until recently, when the red piece flashed in an episode of The Grand Tour called Eurocrash, in which Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May visited several European countries and drove cars that most of the western world had no idea existed. On this occasion, things were set in motion, and one of the results is the Kopřivnice exhibition.
The entire three-piece production run was assembled, despite a number of setbacks, including the fact that the museum had to increase its insurance coverage to cover the extreme value of these three cars. The cars will be exhibited here for about three months.
