Antonio and María were married in February 2004. It was a luxurious wedding attended by family and close friends. They spent their honeymoon in a very picturesque town with folksy people in the province of Los Santos. They planned everything very well to spend a whole month in that place, where they met, during the 2000 Christmas and New Year celebrations.
María worked as a nurse in a private clinic and Antonio as a sales executive in a transnational company. Both had a good income, to lead a comfortable life and provide a good education to the children they conceived in the future.
Three years of marriage passed in which the young couple enjoyed happiness at home, travel and luxuries. They had an ostentatious house in an upper-middle-class neighborhood, two cars worth more than 30 thousand dollars. It was a perfect life and one that any young man would yearn for, at that time. But something was missing at home: a child, who would invade their lives with joy.
Every time Maria went to the appointment with her husband scheduled by the fertilization specialist, she fell into depression. As a young woman, she was diagnosed as suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome, which is a condition in which women have menstrual irregularities and was what prevented her from becoming pregnant.
Ariel, a friend of the young people, told them not to lose hope and recommended the services of a specialist of Asian origin who applied a fertilization method that was effective for women with problems conceiving. On April 24, María received the best news of her life: she was two months pregnant. Joy reigned in the home. As the months passed, Ariel Antonio was born, eight pounds with abundant hair. The baby brought both families a lot of happiness, because he was the first child, the first grandchild, and the first nephew.
After five years, they enrolled him in one of the best private schools in the country, they celebrated his birthday with ‘spider man’ badges and at Christmas he received many gifts from the family, he was the spoiled one.
The tragedy at the home came on August 15, when María and Antonio received calls to their cell phones announcing that Ariel Antonio had died. Her father collapsed from the impact of the news and Maria was rushed to the hospital for emotional shock. According to the investigations, the driver of the schoolboy who was transporting Ariel Antonio to his house did not realize that the child had not gotten out of the vehicle and accelerated, causing him to roll and hit his head, causing him death from trauma, immediately.
The day of burial
That day the service was packed with family, friends of the couple, classmates from Ariel Antonio’s school and his grade-level teacher. Suffering was observed in every corner of the place. The little boy’s coffin was right next to the podium, where the word of God was offered to the faithful. The mother dressed him in the clothing of her son’s favorite character: Spider-Man.
When it was Maria’s turn, he dedicated a few words to those present. His face reflected pain. He lowered his gaze lovingly and looked at his beloved son and then looked up to heaven and said. ‘Father, you gave it to me, you take it from me and I give it to you.’ The church, for a few minutes, was invaded by a deathly silence. Some cried and others hugged each other as if they felt the pain of that mother.
After a week, María and Antonio decided to change their address. They sold the house where they saw their son smile and grow up and moved to the province of Los Santos.
In 2009, Maria, who had to undergo treatment to be able to conceive, felt nausea, dizziness and vomiting. Without thinking twice, she went to the clinic, where the gynecologist told her: “Ma’am, congratulations! You are pregnant.” Within months she gave birth to a beautiful boy named Andrés Antonio. As the boy grew, the relatives were amazed at the enormous resemblance to his late brother, even his favorite character was also the spider-man.
Family acquaintances commented that the child was the brother’s clone, that is, his living portrait; others that it was a miracle of God to give it back to her in that way, because of the words that Mary had expressed on the podium on the day of the burial: ‘Father You gave it to me, You take it away and I give it to You’. María not only gave birth to Andrés Antonio. At two years of age, she gave birth to María Fernanda and without medical treatment.
When she was young, María was diagnosed as suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome, however a miracle happened, she had three children, but the first died.
