And the more than 200 Cubans tried to get everyone’s attention on social networks, pointing out that they could not return to the Island because the services at the Port-au-Prince airport had been suspended until further notice.
Most of these Cubans were stranded after traveling to the neighboring country as tourists or to make purchases, while a few correspond to the husbands, teachers and engineers that the regime has sent to Haiti in recent months.

Many of these were stranded after a shooting occurred last week near the airport of the Haitian capital and some bullets managed to hit a Sunrise Airways airline plane.
Fortunately, none of the passengers were injured, but the airline decided not to take off. Likewise, it suspended all flights between Haiti and Havana that were scheduled for the following days.
“We couldn’t fly on our scheduled day. People who were going to Havana checked in and couldn’t get on the plane, we who are from Camagüey were sent home. All flights have been cancelled, no one takes responsibility for our situation while our families are desperate, we are afraid because we have never been in a situation like this,” declared one of these Antilleans in a video shared on TikTok.
