The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will open the “Center for Innovation in the Future of Autonomous Driving”, a research support facility for self-driving small and medium-sized enterprises in the “K-City” of Hwaseong, Gyeonggi -do.

The opening ceremony was attended by many promising companies, including the second deputy minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Eom Seong-bok, president of the Korea Automobile Safety Research Institute, and emerging companies that will lead the development of autonomous driving technology. in Korea.

The “Autonomous Driving Future Innovation Center” is located at the Hwaseong Automobile Safety Research Institute in Gyeonggi-do and was established to support the technological innovation of companies through the synergy with the demonstration infrastructure in connection with K-City, the largest autonomous driving test bed in Korea.

Companies using K-City will be able to repeatedly test the self-driving car developed in various driving situations while simultaneously performing R&D and maintenance activities such as data analysis, AI algorithm correction and vehicle / center repair .

The future autonomous driving innovation center, which is expected to be trialled later this year, will see a total of eight autonomous driving companies selected through the public offering process starting next month.

Among resident companies, it is expected to grant benefits such as rental discounts to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from next year so that they can secure autonomous driving technology without incurring high costs.

Even if you are not a resident company, you can use the necessary office space in the process of using the test facility.
