The Ministry of the Interior held a new draw for mortgage loans
The National Police Assistance and Social Security Directorate is in charge of managing these loans, which on this occasion were 88. It is the largest amount drawn so far.
On Friday, October 13, the draw for 88 mortgage loans was held, aimed at both basic and higher-level personnel.
665 police officers showed up, 489 of whom were authorized to participate.
The amounts for which interested parties could apply were 3,200,000 pesos (approximately 80,000 dollars) for which there were 42 places (25 for Montevideo and Canelones, and 17 for the interior of the country) and 1,720,000 pesos (approximately 40,000 dollars ), to which the remaining quotas belonged. This amount not only covers the mortgage loan, but also the expenses for the deed.
The National Police Assistance and Social Security Directorate is responsible for managing these loans and its director, Crio. Gen. (R) Luis Enrique Rodríguez expressed that: “the particularity of this draw (…) with respect to previous ones, is that there will be people benefiting in each department. Draws were held by department and in percentage, that is, where there are the greatest number of police officers, which is in the metropolitan area, there will be more.”
On the other hand, Rodríguez said that a prompt request to the ministerial command for a new loan is expected (when the administrative part of this is completed), since he considers it “as a solution for police officers who want and fight to have his his little house.”
