The Ministry of Mobility and Transportation Conducts Toxicological Tests on Public Transport Operators

-The agency applied a total of 1,595 toxicological tests to drivers during October

PUEBLA CITY, Pue. – As part of the actions to ensure that public transport operators provide the service in optimal physical and mental conditions, the current government of Sergio Salomón, through the Ministry of Mobility and Transportation (SMT), applied 1,595 tests toxicological tests, of which four tested positive for narcotics or psychotropic drugs.

Through these operations, personnel from the Inspection and Surveillance Directorate verified the status of the operators of the routes M17, M22, S14A, Angelopolitanos, Periféricos Rojas, Periféricos Azules, JBS, Cree-Madero, Flecha Azul, Rutas Tepeaca , S12, 67 Azul, S14B, S Acueyeca, S16, S11, 28, S23, Cholula, 65, C76, 3, 3A and taxi-type commercial service units.

Randomly and during service hours, toxicological tests were carried out in the municipalities of Puebla, San Andrés and San Pedro Cholula and Tepeaca, which consist of reagents for the immediate detection of marijuana, amphetamines, cocaine, benzodiazepines and barbiturates.

In this sense, the agency suspended the licenses of the four drivers who tested positive, removed the units from circulation and applied the corresponding infraction for the aforementioned offense.

With these permanent actions, the SMT randomly reviews public transportation routes with the aim that the service provided is of quality and protects at all times the integrity of users, operators and third parties.
