Is it legal to swim in the fountains of Belarus, the police said. This is reported by the TV channel “Belarus 4 Mogilev“.
When the temperature outside rises to 30 degrees and above zero, it’s nice to sit by the fountain. But what if you sit in it completely or at least with your feet in the bowl of such a hydraulic structure? Is it legal?
The Department of Internal Affairs of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee explained: there is no unequivocal answer.
Bathing in a fountain, according to the law, does not have an administrative offense. Hence, there is no punishment for such an action.
Responsibility is only for swimming in prohibited areas of rivers, lakes or other bodies of water.
Another thing is to splash around in a fountain while drunk, use profanity, violate public order or the peace of citizens. Such actions can be regarded as petty hooliganism. And this threatens with a fine, or community service, or administrative arrest.
Law enforcement officers also drew attention to the unsuitability of water from the fountain for bathing. It circulates in a closed cycle in the bowl and may appear clean, but it is not.
