Police officers are checking three universities in Sofia after a signal was given, the Ministry of Interior announced.
They are checking Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski ”, UNWE and Technical University.
By Decree of the Council of Ministers 219/2020, earmarked funds have been allocated to the state universities, which have student dormitories, for the improvement of the public and social living environment in the amount of BGN 68,000,000. another BGN 10,000,000
In order to use the provided budget funds, with a letter from the Ministry of Education and Science it is recommended during the preparation and conduct of public procurement that universities provide the opportunity for advance payment of 100% of the value of contracts to contractors.
In the course of the inspection, employees of the Economic Police Department of the GDNP requested from the universities the necessary documents related to concluded contracts, guarantees, payments and performed activity, as well as the manner of the conducted procedures.
On November 17 and 18, Interior Ministry officials did not visit universities in connection with the election process, the interior ministry said. This is the response of Boyko Rashkov’s office to accusations made by Prof. Anastas Gerdjikov in the pre-election debate with Rumen Radev.
