The Ministry of Health told about the interval between COVID vaccinations

The Ministry of Health has reminded about the intervals between vaccinations

If the second dose of vaccine was administered earlier or later than the recommended interval, then it is counted without the need to re-administer or vaccinate from the beginning.

The Ministry of Health recalled the intervals between the first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and gave advice to those who missed the second vaccination. This is stated in message press service of the Ministry of Health.

“It is advisable to vaccinate with the second dose of the vaccine on time: Comirnaty / Pfizer-BioNTech – 21-28 days, CoronaVac / Sinovac Biotech – 28 days, Oxford / AstraZeneca – 12 weeks,” the message says.

In this case, in case of insurmountable circumstances, the introduction of the second dose can be done 7 days earlier than the specified interval for the vaccines CoronaVac / Sinovac and AstraZeneca (Covishield / SKBio).

For the Comirnaty / Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, a “window” is immediately indicated within which the vaccine can be given – between 21 and 28 days after the first dose.

If the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine is given earlier or later than the recommended interval, then it will be counted without the need to re-administer it or vaccinate from the beginning.

The Ministry of Health also recommends vaccinating earlier or later only if absolutely necessary.

Recall, the day before it was reported that in Ukraine, almost 720 thousand people are expected to be vaccinated… Meanwhile, the incidence of coronavirus has dropped up to less than 350 cases per day.
