From Cartagena, Health Minister Carolina Corcho, responded to criticism of delays in acquiring monkeypox vaccines.
Part of these questions was asked by former minister Fernando Ruiz, who stressed that Colombia still has nothing concrete in relation to countries like Peru, which it has already received, according to Ruiz, his first batch of vaccines.
Corcho assured that the country is carrying out a negotiation process “Very high level” and specified that the Monkeypox is not Covid-19 as some sectors have tried to make Colombians believe.

Minister Corcho also said that if this “high-level negotiation” materializes, Colombia would have “many more doses” than those received from other Latin American countries.
In addition, he noted that in all of America there have been only five deaths from this disease, none of them in Colombia.
