The Ministry of Health is launching a large campaign in favor of vaccination Romania

Radio Romania is the first media institution to join this effort, launching the information campaign “VACCIN FOR LIFE”, which will be held from 17 to 28 July.

180,000 children in our country are not vaccinated against measles and 80,000 have not been vaccinated against polio: the figures announced by Prime Minister Mihai Tudose this week. The latest figures show that 8,000 cases have been confirmed and 31 people have died from the disease since the start of the measles outbreak in September.

The president of the Romanian Society of Microbiology, Alexandru Rafila, told his colleagues at Radio Iași that parents should be informed by authorized sources, doctors or specialists who can explain to them the consequences of refusing to immunize their children:

Alexandru Rafila: When we refuse to vaccinate our child, we, as parents, have to assume it. See what happens with measles: children under the age of one, for whom vaccination is not yet recommended, get sick and die, from older children who get sick from not being vaccinated. The fairest thing we can do is to give the parent the opportunity to be informed. Every doctor gets vaccinated, they vaccinate their children in turn, and I don’t think doctors who are also parents would, if they had the slightest doubt that the vaccine is harmful.

Producer: The Ministry of Health will launch a broad campaign in favor of vaccination next week. The set of measures established by the health authorities includes an information campaign to parents on the need for vaccination, meetings with the press, videoconferences with prefects and public health services to establish the measures that will be adopted at local level, journalist of RRA Ce lo Marilena Frâncu said.

Radio Romania is the first media institution to join this effort, launching the information campaign “VACCIN FOR LIFE”, which will be held from 17 to 28 July.

Radio Romania Actuale, Antena Satelor, Radio Romania Cultural and Radio Romania Regional will present the risks to which the unvaccinated are exposed, the side effects, the reasons why some parents refuse to immunize their children and the need to adopt new legislation in vaccination matter
