The Ministry of Health of Belarus conducted “virological monitoring” in the republic and published the results: on the types and prevalence of diseases, and also suggested when to expect “high levels of morbidity.”
Po information Ministry of Health as of mid-December, in Belarus they note mainly the circulation of non-influenza respiratory viruses. Specialists register parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses, RS viruses, rhinoviruses, and identify isolated cases of circulation of influenza viruses (A (H3N2), A (H1N1) and B), the department reported. And they added that now the incidence of ARI is within the average data, and of those sick, more than 60% are children under 18 years of age.
In Belarus, acute respiratory infections account for more than 98% of all registered infectious diseases, – Ministry of Health.
Now in all regions of the country there is a weekly increase in the incidence of acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19, the department said. And they reported that high levels of influenza incidence among the population cannot be ruled out in the current season, “however, an increase in influenza incidence is expected not in December 2023, but from January to March 2024.”
The ministry reminded people of the need to use respiratory protection, maintain social distance (especially in hospitals and clinics) and personal hygiene rules.
