The Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the business areas of education and sport combines three complementary political areas in which Liechtenstein defines itself internally and externally as an active and independent country. Politics on these issues largely determines the country’s self-image.

The main tasks of Liechtenstein foreign policy lie in maintaining the sovereignty and independence of the country and in maintaining and developing its international legal relationships. Our interest group is committed to shaping cooperation in the region and internationally. The foreign policy priorities also include the protection of human rights and the rule of law, foreign trade and financial policy, and international solidarity within the framework of international humanitarian cooperation and development.

The Liechtenstein education system includes a fascinatingly differentiated range of offers, from early childhood education to adult education, including public and private schools, which are designed by many committed teachers and specialists every day in a future-oriented manner. This also includes the University of Liechtenstein, the Agency for International Educational Affairs (AIBA), the Liechtenstein Music School, the Liechtenstein Art School and the Foundation for Adult Education. Other focal points are the targeted participation and support of scientific research and development.

The area of ​​sport and the associated club life in the sports clubs strengthen social interaction in Liechtenstein and are of central importance for quality of life and health. It is therefore important to preserve the framework conditions, to build on them with new impulses and to expand them. The aim is that the offer enables all interested parties to do sports and thereby promote the health of body and mind. In top-class sport, conditions are created to offer our competitive athletes and sports associations optimal conditions for top performance.
