The Ministry of Finance is ready and scheduled to meet all the goals and especially those set in the 2024 planning, Finance Minister Makis Keravnos said on Tuesday.
In his statements to the Ministry of Finance and asked to state whether the Ministry is ready to implement what the President of the Republic announced yesterday for the economic sector, in the context of the Government’s plan for 2024, the Minister stated that “in 11 months of governance, a lot has been done and solid foundations have been laid to continue this productive work of the Government”.
The President, he continued, has set specific goals that “some goals may be considered ambitious, but without goals we cannot have a specific strategy and individual practices and policies to achieve these goals. We must move forward having goals and making every effort to implement them for the good of our country, our economy and our society”.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Finance is ready and planned to meet all the goals and especially those set in the 2024 planning.
When asked whether the economy can support the other goals announced by the President, which require relevant funds, he said that “because we act proactively and planned we already have a budget for 2024 that is in surplus, it has a significant primary surplus just for this reason, to respond to what we have promised to the Cypriot people but also what we must do as a European country in a modern world, which is constantly evolving”.
