In TikTok, data can be accessed not only by the program developer, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense warned.
After the assessment, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense recommends not using the Chinese social network TikTok, and if this application is already installed, then delete it.
This was stated by Antanas Aleknavičius, Head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense Group on Cyber Security and Information Technology Policy, writes Delphi.
He stressed that TikTok user data can be available to Chinese intelligence, and that, in turn, can transfer them to other countries.
“I can answer that every institution, every company is responsible for its own infrastructure and for its management. This application is not on our list of allowed software, so it really should not be on any device,” Aleknavičius said, noting that “Under current PRC regulations, there is a possibility that this data will also end up in their intelligence agencies.
He explained that the apps installed on the devices must be required to work, so other social networks can be used for public relations functions. In the case of TikTok, data access can get not only a developer program.
Recall that earlier calls to remove TikTok were reported by Denmark. So, on Tuesday, February 28, urged lawmakers and employees not to use the application TikTok on work phones, stating that “there is a risk of espionage.”
