As an example, the deputy head of the department, Alexander Fomin, recalled the incident in the Black Sea with the British destroyer Defender.

Speaking at a briefing, Fomin said that the military construction of the bloc is completely re-focused on preparations for a large-scale clash with Russia. NATO’s 2019 military strategy explicitly identifies the country as the main source of security threat.
