Books – Hassan Morsi and Mohamed Khamis:
Dr. Hossam Al-Masry, the medical advisor to the Council of Ministers, said that the rare disease that afflicted Moamen Zakaria, the Al-Ahly player, has no fundamental treatment.
“The council receives all requests for help from any citizen, and so far we have not received any distress to treat him at the expense of the state,” he said in his statements via Skype to the program “Your Sabah Masri” on MBC Egypt 2.
He added that Al-Ahly Club and the Ministry of Youth and Sports are responsible for treating the player Moamen Zakaria during that period, explaining that he does not know the details of the case, but muscular dystrophy in general is a rare disease and has no root treatment.
He added that if a distress is sent to Captain Moamen Zakaria’s case, it will be studied directly and treated.
For her part, Dr. Dina Zamzam, a consultant neurologist at the Multiple Sclerosis Unit at Ain Shams University, said that multiple sclerosis begins before the age of forty and over, and it is caused by lack of early diagnosis in some cases.
And during a phone call to the “evening dmc” program, she asked people who suffer from symptoms of the brain and nerves, problems with movement and balance, problems in controlling output, tremors, atrophy problems and muscle weakness, to refer immediately to an internal medicine or neurologist.
She added, “As for the case of the player, Moamen Zakaria, if his injury is als, the matter increases gradually over time, and there are drugs available to slow down the process of premature aging or the process of nerve atrophy, and there are experiments on stem cells that are not used medically until now, but physical therapy, speech and exercises must be maintained.” Concerning breathing and swallowing, or changing the nature of eating .. in addition to other medicines.
And concluded, “As for multiple sclerosis, it is immunological and can be controlled more broadly. It is possible for the attacks that occur to the patient to improve with preventive treatment, and to exercise his life normally, and the two results depend on early diagnosis.”
