The Minister of Transport Hristo Alexiev has fired the head of the Maritime Administration Executive Agency, Captain Zhivko Petrov. Ventsislav Ivanov, a long-distance sailing captain, was appointed in his place.
Ivanov held the post from 2004 to 2007, the transport ministry said. The Minister of Transport Hristo Alexiev announced the change at a briefing. He said that he had found a serious inadequacy of the “Maritime Administration” in connection with our actions around the stranded Turkish ship near Kamen Bryag.
Alexiev said that as long as he is a minister and represents the state, he will not allow sabotage, regardless of whether it is due to election campaigns, political, lobbying or commercial interests.

Regarding the condolences, he mentioned signals to Brussels, and that pollution of the Black Sea was an action against the state, as it was not true. He said that the fuel of the ship was drained, which prevented a serious danger, there was no evidence of a serious leak at sea and the MoEW specialists monitored and made measurements every day.
There were five scenarios for taking the ship out, working with companies. There was also an option with helicopters to load the cargo in large bags of about a ton and a half and to take it out by helicopters.
At first, however, work is underway to strengthen the ship, waiting for a window of better weather to enter a ship with a crane to place additional anchors.
