The Minister of Public Health completes his supervision mission in the Dosso region

Dosso, September 22 (ANP) – After the departments of Tibiri and Dogondoutchi, the Minister of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs and the delegation accompanying him were in Dendi on Thursday.

In Malgorou, Colonel-Major Doctor Garba Hakimi visited the integrated health center to learn about its operation. Detailed explanations were provided to the delegation on the difficulties encountered by this CSI, which include difficult access during the winter and lack of fencing.

At the Guiwa health center, the fence issue was raised by the center manager.

The delegation then travelled to Gaya where the district health chief physician led a guided tour of the various pavilions.

The Gaya health district has 19 CSIs and 45 health centers.

The cleanliness of the premises of the Gaya health district was appreciated by the ministerial delegation. The same goes for the performance indicators which delighted the members of the mission.

During the meeting with the Gaya Departmental Health Officers, the Minister of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs congratulated the Gaya health workers for their commitment to satisfying the people in the health sector.

The ministerial delegation noted compliance with the decision to reduce care by 50% as ordered by the President of the CNSP, Head of State, Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani. The minister also noted compliance with free childbirth. “Health indicators overall, rejoiced Colonel-Major Garba Hakimi, are satisfactory in the department of Gaya”, specifying nevertheless that “discussions with health officials have made it possible to identify a certain number of needs that have been expressed in particular in nursing staff, midwives, doctors, and in rolling stock, in particular ambulances”.

“Arrangements will be made as far as possible to meet these needs,” he reassured, before taking the opportunity to thank the governor of Dosso, the partners accompanying the mission, the heads of the defense and security forces, the traditional chiefs as well as the heads of the defense and security forces for their commitment to the success of the mission, which made it possible to address the health concerns of the Gaya department which will be addressed diligently.

The Minister of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs paid a courtesy visit to the head of the Gaya Roumane canton, Moussa Gani, to whom he conveyed greetings from the President of the CNSP, Head of State, Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani.

In the urban commune of Dosso, the ministerial delegation made several visits, including to the mother and child center and the Toubal medical clinic, which is very popular with the people of Dosso. The socio-economic center for disabled people was also visited by the Minister of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs, where several art objects made by these disabled people were presented to the delegation. Difficulties related to the lack of fencing, the lack of resources, the lack of outlets or the poor sales were explained at length to the ministerial delegation.

At the regional hospital, the Minister of Public Health had a long discussion with the staff to get an exact idea of ​​how the hospital operates. The delegation was then to visit the Dosso People’s Pharmacy.

The last visit was dedicated to the regional center Espace Sûr “Haoua Zaleye”. In this center, unemployed women and girls learn several trades as well as literacy courses which are provided.

A summary meeting marked the end of the mission of the Minister of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs in the Dosso region.

This mission, which lasted from September 17 to 21, 2024, allowed the ministerial delegation to comb through the various health concerns of the populations of the Dosso region and to have a clear idea of ​​the functioning of the different health centers.

Difficulties were identified during the Minister’s trip, solutions were provided on the ground and others will find appropriate responses both by the Ministry of Health and by the technical partners who accompanied the Minister of Public Health on this trip rich in lessons.

At the end of this mission in the Dosso region, the Minister of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs took the opportunity to convey to the populations the warm greetings and recognition of the President of the CNSP, Head of State Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani for their unwavering support and resilience to the illegal sanctions imposed on the country.

Colonel-Major Medical Officer Garba Hakimi Hakimi appealed to the population to trust health services and urged them to use them.

The Minister of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs, on behalf of the delegation that accompanied him, expressed his gratitude to the administrative, customary and local authorities for their contribution to improving the health of the population.

To the technical and financial partners, he expressed his gratitude for their willingness to support the State in this sector. To the FDS, he thanked them for ensuring security throughout the mission.

He finally addressed a special mention to the health workers for their dedication and strong commitment in the management of health services.
