He was injected with the vaccine manufactured by AstraZeneca. A choice that is not trivial since the government is striving to reassure the French about this product, decried for several weeks. AstraZeneca suffers from a bad reputation after many delivery delays and especially concerns about its side effects. The European Medicines Agency recognized in early April a link between this product and cases of thrombosis (blood problem) but in addition “very rare” occurrences.
