Minister of Labor Ida Fauziyah reveal the root of the problem until the emergence of clashes between Indonesian workers (TKI) and foreign workers (TKA) in PT GNI North Morowali. The root of the problem is the workers’ demands that have not been responded to by the company.
“The root of the problem is that there are demands submitted to the company that have not been responded to, triggering demonstrations that end in anarchy, so this is more a problem that the company has not responded to properly,” Ida told reporters at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday. (16/1/2023).
Ida said that her party had dispatched a team to mediate the demands of the workers. Ida said there was an agreement from the mediation.
“We have also dispatched mediators from the North Morowali and provincial manpower offices to mediate against the demands made by the workers. We have also asked the provincial supervisor to supervise the events that occurred at the company, today both of them have mediated and Agreements have been reached,” he said.
Ida said that her party would supervise the implementation of the agreement. In addition, it will explore a more detailed explanation of the problem.
“Next we will carry out the implementation of these agreements, besides we will also go directly to obtain a more detailed explanation,” he said.
Furthermore, Ida was reluctant to mention the agreement resulting from the mediation. He ensured that his party would oversee the implementation of existing agreements.
“Several demands have been responded to by the company, later we will see how far the agreement is and we will monitor the implementation of the agreement,” he said.
