The lawyers refuse to end the action before they have their demands met. The Minister of Justice believes that the “boycott” must be ended before the talks can continue.
On Wednesday, a new meeting was held between the Norwegian Bar Association and the Minister of Justice and Emergency Preparedness about the inflamed situation. And the meeting shows how stuck the conflict is still. Now it has lasted for over five months.
The lawyers are campaigning for better financial conditions in the public legal aid scheme. They want a new, annual negotiation on how the scheme should be set up and adjusted.
