The blood center in Burgas will operate at full speed in 2025. This was announced by Minister of Health Galya Kondeva to bTV.
“Funding for is secured. A ministerial decision has already been taken. The procedure has been started and up to 9 employees will be appointed within a month, who will organize the public contracts for repairs and furnishing”she said.
The minister explained that the building was provided by the municipality of Burgas. There is also money for equipment.
“At this stage, it’s just a matter of working and sticking to the schedule so that in 2025 this blood center will be operating at full capacity.”she finished.
We remind you that the new RCTH will be established as a medical facility under Art. 5, para. 1 of the Law on Medical Institutions – a legal entity of budgetary support with a subject of activity: collection of blood and blood components; diagnosis, processing, storage, provision of blood and blood components; production, storage and provision of blood bioproducts; implementation of transfusion supervision activities.
As a result of the adoption of the decree, a complete technological cycle of collection, diagnosis, processing, storage, quality control and shipment of blood and blood components in the territory of Burgas region will be ensured.
With the opening of the Regional Center for Transfusion Hematology, a permanent and sustainable solution to the issue of providing a sufficient amount of blood and blood components needed by the medical facilities for hospital care in the territory of the city of Burgas and the municipalities in the region will be ensured.
This will improve the treatment process for patients with life-threatening conditions and ensure the quality of medical work and patient safety.
