This came during the Minister’s site visit to the Al-Khanka Mental Health Hospital, today, Monday, together with Engineer Ayman Attia, the Governor of Qalyubia, as part of the Minister’s willingness to monitor the progress of work in the field and re- examine the medical work. services provided to patients.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the hospital, after its development, will include all… Medical services And preventive and oncology treatment, as well as mental health and addiction services, with a total capacity of 1,800 beds, including 300 beds for therapeutic and preventive services, and 2 serial accelerators for oncology treatment, as well as 1,500 beds for mental health services.

“Abdul Ghaffar” pointed out that the Minister started his visit by inspecting the building of outpatient clinics, which include (adult and child psychology clinics) to ensure that medical staff would be available availability and consistency of work, indicating that the clinics receive around 300 patients. every day.

“Abdel Ghaffar” continued that the Minister inspected the main pharmacy of the hospital, where he reviewed the drug distribution system and its availability, and there was a shortage of several medicines found, as the Minister immediately contacted the United Purchasing Authority of Egypt to provide them. medicines required for patients, requesting hospital officials to follow up the matter with the Authority and supply the deficient medicines.

Abdul Ghaffar said that the Minister reviewed the organization of pharmaceuticals in the hospital, which includes the main pharmacy and pharmacies within the departments, and ensured that there would be enough manpower to get to work, as the number of pharmacists in the hospital reached 25 pharmacists.

Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that the Minister inspected one of the buildings under construction, which is located on an area of ​​1,400 square meters and consists of 3 floors, and includes (outpatient clinics , an administrative building, and a residence for doctors), pointing to the direction of the Minister to investigate the establishment of an emergency hospital to provide all advanced medical services to patients without the need to be transferred to surrounding hospitals .

Abdul Ghaffar said the minister inspected the harm reduction unit, observation rooms, Section 7 investors, Section 32 Harem, electroconvulsive therapy rooms, and the addiction treatment department.

Abdul Ghaffar pointed out that the capacity of the hospital is 1,400 beds, explaining that the hospital includes several clinics that serve patients in the internal department, such as the dental clinic, the prosthodontics unit, the medicine clinic internal, the dermatology clinic, surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmia, and the nose and ear clinic.

Al-Ghaffar noted that the hospital provides several services to patients from outside the hospital, including clinics (addiction, psychology, harm reduction, viruses, community medicine , disability detection for patients with mental disabilities and autism), as well as regular x. -ray, ultrasound, and EKG services, as well as brain rhythm management unit services.

Abdel Ghaffar confirmed that the Minister wanted to talk to the patients who frequent the clinics and those in the observation rooms and the addiction treatment department, and listen to their requests and direct them to work on the implement.
