The Minister of Health informs Romanians from all over the country about the important measures that are currently being prepared by the Romanian Government for millions of people, their aim being to improve access to medical services, and of course we are talking here about the pre-hospital outpatient clinics in the country.
The Minister of Health also talks below about the reasons why many people were infected by various respiratory viruses during the winter season, over 100,000 per week in at least the last month, but this trend should decrease in the next period throughout the country .
“This season with many viruses, many cases of flu, was not unexpected, in the conditions for more than 2 years we were with certain restrictions related to the pandemic. The circulation of viruses was greatly reduced, and this recrudescence of viruses was observed all over the world, including in the southern hemisphere.
For this reason, we started vaccination against the flu already in September, which was somewhat unprecedented, we quickly carried out the vaccination campaign. We would be happy if in the future the number of these vaccinations, especially among the risk categories, would be higher. Here I would make a small parenthesis, we now have the necessary legislation, we are working on the rules, so that vaccination is compensated, especially for people with chronic diseases.
We hope next year to have another approach that will lead to the protection of as many people as possible against flu infections, which as you can see, unfortunately, as happens every year, also produces serious cases of illness and deaths. On the other hand, this season also found us with experience related to the development of specialized outpatient clinics for the value of people who have cases of respiratory viruses.
I also did it for children at the level of some hospitals that have wards, or are pediatric hospitals. We need to work as much as possible on the development of pre-hospital medical care, I think this should be the goal for the coming years, alongside, of course, investments in new buildings or new hospitals, but let’s not forget that people need medical services close to them.
Medical services to be available for an extended period of the day, or even on the weekend, and we work very hard for this, because only in this way can we control certain phenomena that appear in the sphere of public health in winter, respiratory viruses, or other types of pathologies that sometimes pose problems regarding the health of communities.”
