Today, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, heads to the United States of America on a visit to Harvard Medical College at the head of a delegation that includes Dr. Mohamed Hassani, Assistant Minister for Public Health Initiatives, Dr. Nevin El-Nahhas, Director of the Technical Office of the Minister of Health and Population, and Dr. Magdy El-Serafy, Secretary General of the Egyptian Fellowship To complete the research training programs for doctors and trainers in the Egyptian Fellowship Program, as part of the Ministry’s strategy to advance the system of vocational medical education and complete health reform in Egypt.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson of the ministry, said that the minister is scheduled to discuss with the Harvard Medical College of America the completion of training programs that started their activities by a delegation from Harvard Medical College for the first batch of Egyptian trainers last December at the Princess Academy Fatima for Vocational Education, within the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Egyptian Fellowship of the Ministry of Health and Population and the Harvard Medical School.

Mujahid pointed out that the second training program within the Memorandum of Understanding includes training for Egyptian fellowships on clinical research, which is scheduled to start for the first batch in February of this year..

He added that the approved teaching hours are to be discussed within the training programs for doctors and trainers in the Egyptian Fellowship, and include interactive lectures through the Harvard Medical College’s e-learning platform..

Mujahid pointed out that Dr. Hala Zayed will discuss with the Harvard Medical School the presentation of the results and research of the Presidential Initiative to treat C virus and detect noncommunicable diseases “100 million health” and adopt them as global research to benefit from them internationally, adding that the Minister is also scheduled to discuss the presidential training program that It was discussed with Dr. “Avai Singh,” Assistant President of the Dean of Graduate Studies, Harvard Medical School during his visit to Egypt, where the program includes granting degrees to qualify leaders in the medical field in Egypt.

Mujahid added that the minister will also discuss ways to cooperate in training programs with the Harvard Colleges of Public Health and Business Administration.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding last November between each of the Egyptian fellowship affiliated to the Ministry of Health and Population and the Department of Graduate Studies for Medical Education at Harvard Medical College of America for a period of 3 years, to participate in the training program to train a number of batches of trainers The Egyptian Fellowship is part of the Ministry’s strategy to advance the system of vocational medical education, in addition to implementing a program of clinical research training for doctors enrolled in the Egyptian Fellowship.
