Within the framework of the proximity policy adopted by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and in application of the royal directives for the deep and radical reform of the national health system and the establishment of social protection and universal health insurance, the Minister of Health, Khalid Ait Taleb launched, on Saturday, the services of three health establishments in the presence of Moustapha Maaza, governor of the prefecture of Taza.
These are the level I urban health center “Bit Ghlam” with a space dedicated to the health of young people, and two level I urban health centers “Bab Titi” and “Bin Jradi”.
The launch of the services of these establishments is part of the new vision adopted by the Ministry emphasizing the rehabilitation of health centers by providing them with a new charter in accordance with standards, since this is the first step in the care process, to be able to reposition themselves in the national health system. In addition, these health establishments aim to strengthen and improve the supply of care in the region of Fez – Meknes, and in particular in the province of Taza, experiencing demographic dynamics and a growing demand for health services.
The level I “Bit Ghlam” urban health center will serve an estimated population of 22,000 people through a varied basket of health care services including: medical consultations and examinations, monitoring of the health of women and children. child, chronic disease monitoring, school health, nursing care, health awareness and education.
After its extension and renovation, the youth health space will serve more than 125,000 young people in the city of Taza, and aims to improve the care offered by the network of social health establishments in the region, in the goal of bringing health services and outreach programs closer to young people. This space will provide different services including; general medical examinations, dental and ophthalmological examinations, in addition to reception, orientation, information and support, awareness-raising and health and curative education services for young people between 10 and 25 years old.
In addition, the level I “Bab Titi” urban health center offers a variety of health services including medical and nursing services for the benefit of a population of more than 13,000 people. A medical and nursing team is mobilized to provide services in this centre, which consist of medical consultations, nursing care, monitoring of chronic illnesses and the health of mother and child, school health and also awareness and health education.
However, the level I “Bin Jradi” urban health center has been renovated to become part of the primary health establishments offering quality health services to a population of more than 17,600 people. In this sense, a medical and nursing corps will provide general medical consultations and examinations, nursing care, monitoring of the health of the mother and child, dental health, monitoring of chronic diseases, in particular diabetes and hypertension, as well as other services that include school health, outreach and health education.
It should be noted that the rehabilitation and equipment works of the level I urban health center “Bit Ghlam” and the extension and redevelopment of the youth health area were carried out within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the National Initiative for Human Development and the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the North, while the two other urban health centers “Bab Titi” and “Bin Jradi » have been rehabilitated and equipped in collaboration with the National Agency for Public Facilities.
