The key to raising children is not renovated buildings, but trained nursery workers. The policy sees them as the most important players in high-quality childhood care – emphasized Ágnes Hornung, the State Secretary responsible for families at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation (KIM) at the conference “Bölcsőde a szálekók szállátok” in Budapest on Wednesday, we can read in the MTI summary, according to which:
The state secretary emphasized that in order to coordinate work and private life, institutions dealing with children must be strengthened at the same time as supporting families.
He also reminded that the first kindergarten was founded in 1852, and although a lot has happened in the world and in Hungary since then, “the map of Europe has been redrawn”, nurseries were always needed. He touched on the fact that the crèche service currently stands on several legs, since in addition to the state, civil foundations and churches can also establish crèches.
In his message to the conference, the minister responsible for culture and innovation, János Csák, emphasized that the core value of Hungarians, which goes back thousands of years, is the love of family. “We believe that the individual can fulfill himself in orderly family conditions,” he said, adding that the support of families also lays the foundation for the nation’s future.
János Csák touched on the fact that the forward-looking career model created by the government makes early childhood education more and more attractive. The wages of nursery workers have risen in several stages in recent years, increasing by more than three times on average between 2010 and 2022, he explained.
At the event, the Kindergarten Prize, which can be donated by the minister responsible for culture and innovation, was presented, among others, Anna Erdély-Franyó, director of nursing at the Szent Pantaleon Hospital in Dunaújváros, received it in a ceremonial setting. (Source: MTI)
