The Mini Aceman and Aceman JCW live from the 2024 Paris Motor Show: attractive and sporty!

4.07 meters long, this Mini Aceman displays measurements very close to those of the Jeep Avenger. It reveals a dashboard in the purest Mini tradition with a round central touchscreen tablet, with a diameter of 240 mm operating with the Mini Operating System 9 interface.

In terms of trunk, Mini announces 300 liters and up to 1,005 liters with the bench folded (in the 60/40 configuration). This is frankly not much for a city SUV, even if we consider that it is smaller than a Renault Captur or a Peugeot E-2008. Its closest rival, the DS 3, with a similar size, offers 350 liters.

The Aceman here in JCW version, the latest novelty from the Mondial.

The Aceman identically uses the engines of the latest 3-door electric Mini, with a battery of 42.5 kWh of net capacity for the entry-level Aceman E of 184 horsepower, reducing the 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds (V-Max of 160 km/h). Its maximum range will be between 296 and 310 km according to the WLTP approval cycle, which still remains low for a vehicle with a more family vocation than a three-door city car like the Mini. In direct current, its maximum charging power will be limited to 75 kW.

Three motors will be available and 2 battery sizes. 184 hp, 218 hp and 258 hp in JCW. The small battery that goes with the small motors is 42.5 kWh gross, and the large one that goes with the more powerful motors is 54.2 kWh.

At the top of the range, the 218-horsepower Aceman SE has 54.2 kWh batteries. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and can reach 170 km/h. In terms of autonomy, it can last on a single charge between 382 and 407 km depending on the equipment. In fast charging, it will go up to 95 kW. The transition from 10-80%, for this large battery as for the small one, will be done in less than 30 minutes on a fast terminal.

Finally, we also discover on the brand’s stand the most radical version, the JCW (for John Cooper Works) unveiled at the same time as the Mini 3-door JCW. This competition Aceman is equipped with a 258 hp engine and 350 Nm of torque. The maximum speed is limited to 200 km/h, and the number 100 appears on the speedometer after 6.4 seconds. Pretty good.

The autonomy with the “big” battery of 54.2 kWh and 355 km, which is quite average.

The interior presentation is almost identical to the 3-door Mini. Here it is specific in JCW version.

The interior presentation is almost identical to the 3-door Mini. Here it is specific in JCW version.

As for the presentation, it is specific, both outside and inside with a meaner body kit, 19-inch rims, a large rear spoiler. The interior is adorned with more enveloping upholstery and a specific red and black checkered dashboard.

The running gear is also adapted to better control power, because as everyone knows, without control, power is nothing…

We know the prices of this Aceman. At entry level E 184 hp, it starts at €33,550. Please note, the JCW “finish” is not the JCW “version”… The 258 hp JCW costs €45,450.

I like

I love the circular multimedia screen, which is both responsive, ergonomic, and above all customizable. Vintage mode is very cool...

I don’t like

The geometric look is what I like the least. I think the Aceman would have lost nothing by keeping the round lights.

The Caradisiac moment: a huge success!

There was a crowd on the Mini stand, so much so that the communicators had to manage the flow of journalists. But it must be recognized that if the Aceman had its small success, it was especially the John Cooper Works versions, both Acean and Mini 3 doors, which attracted the most. Sports labels are always talked about more than the rest… For how much longer?
