HOUSTON – One of the main contributions of the Houston Rodeo, beyond the cultural issue, has to do with the economic impact that the event has on the city.
In 2019, the Houston Rodeo left a $227 million impact on the city, which received more than $13 million in taxes from the three-week event.
Likewise, the Houston Rodeo creates some 3,694 direct jobs for the events held at NRG Park, a figure that reaches 5,133 when talking about the effects supported by the organization throughout the Houston metropolitan area.
The economic activity generated by the Houston Rodeo reaches $391 million, with nearly $20 million paid in taxes.
It is expected that this 2022, the number of impact and jobs created will rise markedly.
