The Commander of Kodam (Pangdam) XVIII / Cassowary Major General (Mayjen) TNI I Nyoman Cantiasa vented his emotions when delivering the sad news. Its members became victims of attacks by armed criminal group (KKB) at the Kisor Preparatory Koramil Post, South Aifat District.
Cantiasa pounded the press conference table, Cantiasa vented his emotions. He admitted that he was angry with the act of the terrorist separatist group (KST).
It is known that the attack took place on Thursday (2/9) at 04.00 WIT, when it was still dark. At that time, the majority of TNI personnel in the post were sleeping.
Then, dozens of people suspected of being KKB terrorists attacked using firearms (senpi) and sharp weapons (sajam). Four TNI soldiers died as a result of the attack.
“As a result of our members, four people died, two were stabbed, and five people are safe and sound,” said Major General Nyoman Cantiasa at a press conference at the Kasuari Military Command Headquarters in Manokwari, West Papua, Thursday (2/9).
Cantiasa said that so far the relationship between the community and the TNI has been good. Therefore, he suspected this attack was carried out by KST.
“So far, communication between TNI members at the Kisor Posramil and the local community in the South Aifat area is quite good, there is no potential for territorial disturbances, so we suspect that the Posramil attack was carried out by KST,” he said.
Three of the four victims were found dead inside the Posramil. They were Sergeant Amrosius, Praka Dirham, and Private Zul Ansari.
Meanwhile, another soldier, Posramil Commander Kisor Lettu Chb Dirman, was found dead in the bushes not far from the post.
The events of the attack took place so fast. The perpetrators also continued to launch attacks on TNI soldiers who were trying to save themselves.
Commander Promises to Arrest Perpetrators
On this occasion, Cantiasa also promised to hunt down the perpetrators until caught. He promised to find the perpetrator who caused the deaths of four of his members.
“Until where KST is hiding, we will still pursue and arrest them, regardless of their condition, to account for this very heinous act,” he said as quoted by Antara. Between, Saturday (4/9/2021).
